A. King Francis

King has been helping individuals and institutions build and manage wealth for 50 years. With his 50 years of experience and client comes first approach, King is now working on a third generation of clients, helping accumulate wealth for retirement and other family events. King began his career as a financial consultant with First Albany Corporation from 1976-2000 and managed the Pittsfield office from 1984 to 2000. King served as Senior Vice President of Wachovia Securities Private Client Group from August 2000 to 2005 after the purchase of First Albany by First Union, and ultimately the buyout by Wachovia Securities. In September 2005, he formed an independent practice called Francis Investment Consulting Group, Inc. under Wachovia Securities Financial Network. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Francis Investment Consulting Group, Inc.

King is an eighth generation native of Pittsfield MA and has been in practice in Pittsfield for the duration of his career. Being very civic minded, he is a member or has been a past member of the following committees: Pittsfield Cemetery (Finance and Investments), Berkshire Place (Finance and Investments), Berkshire Health Systems (Community Development, Executive Committee and Finance & Investment Committees) and South Mountain Music Association (Investments). In the past he has served as President of the Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield YMCA and President of the Exchange Club of Pittsfield. He has also served as a Board Member of the Salvation Army, South Mountain Music Association, Berkshire Theatre Group (Colonial Theatre) and Berkshire Place. He also served as a Trustee of Berkshire Health Systems for 11 years.

King has a BS in Economics from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. King and his spouse Deborah reside in Pittsfield and have three children and eight grandchildren.
